Job Description
|
- Develops and implements a regional QA strategic plan that supports long term Corporate Sourcing, Manufacturing and Quality Assurance strategic plans. Communicates the regional QA plan down through the QA organization and vendors to ensure clear understanding and ownership.
- Responsible for staffing, training and performance management of regional QA team. Builds and maintains staffing plans that support the QA strategic plan. Determines appropriate staffing levels based on corporate production plans. Coordinates training to insure QA staff have the knowledge and skills to execute the regional QA strategy. Sets individual and department goals and manages the achievement of the established goals.
- Ensures that Corporate QA policy and procedure are understood, implemented and adhered to by vendors and regional QA staff. Coordinates vendor and regional QA staff training to ensure understanding and implementation of all procedures and standards.
- Monitors performance of vendors and regional QA teams to the corporate procedures and standards. Researches failures and takes corrective action to improve future performance. Coordinates vendor chargebacks when applicable. Reports vendor performance seasonally to Corporate QA and Sourcing teams.
- Actively participates as a regional manager of the Corporate QA team. Attends seasonal corporate QA meetings. Reports on regional performance, shares regional corrective action plans and makes recommended changes on corporate policy and procedure.

Job Requirements

Years of experience: 8 year(s)
Minimum career level: Manager
Minimum education level: Bachelors
- College degree or equivalent with course work in textiles, apparel manufacturing or related experience.
- Eight or more years combined experience in quality assurance, garment engineering and overseas production
- Must have a comprehensive working knowledge of Quality Assurance procedures.
- Posses senior level management experience of both people and QA process.
- Experience with garment production including pattern making, grading, cutting, garment engineering, line balancing and garment construction for sportswear, accessories and technical outerwear required.
- Possess senior level working knowledge of materials and functional aspects of garments as well as strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet strict timelines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Possess strong written and verbal English communication skills to deal with various levels of management and employees within the organization as well as vendors and world wide personnel.
- Ability to motivate and train individuals involved in the production and QA process.
- Ability to negotiate production problems and deadlines with individuals/departments involved.
- Physical ability to travel world wide on commercial transportation; visual acuity for analyzing samples and color; sitting, standing, bending, lifting up to 20 pounds and finger dexterity.
